Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescriptions accurately, verifying all patient information and dosage instructions.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments and performing regular stock counts.
- Assist pharmacists in the compounding of medications and performing quality assurance checks.
- Communicate with patients and insurance companies regarding prescription details and coverage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment in compliance with OSHA and state regulations.
- Process returns and expired medication disposal following legal guidelines.
- Utilize pharmacy management software to track patient data and prescription history.
Qualifications
- Active Michigan Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required.
- Valid state licensure to practice as a Pharmacy Technician.
- High School Diploma or GED; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in mathematical calculations.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with pharmacy software systems.
