Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, prescription details, and insurance coverage to ensure compliance.
- Manage inventory levels by receiving shipments, organizing stock, and performing monthly inventory counts.
- Assist pharmacists with compounding medications and clinical tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and resolving prescription concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment following all safety protocols.
- Utilize pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner) to track patient data and orders.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Active Alaska Pharmacy Technician license.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Previous experience in retail or hospital pharmacy preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor toward patients.
