Responsibilities

  • Receive, prepare, and package prescription medications accurately according to doctor's orders and state regulations.
  • Verify prescriptions for completeness and accuracy, checking for drug interactions and allergies.
  • Manage inventory levels, ensuring stock is replenished and expired medications are discarded properly.
  • Operate pharmacy dispensing equipment and computer systems to process insurance claims and patient records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients by answering questions about medications, dosages, and side effects.
  • Assist the Pharmacist in compounding medications and preparing IV solutions when required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy workspace in compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
  • Current California Pharmacy Technician License.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
