Responsibilities
- Receive, prepare, and package prescription medications accurately according to doctor's orders and state regulations.
- Verify prescriptions for completeness and accuracy, checking for drug interactions and allergies.
- Manage inventory levels, ensuring stock is replenished and expired medications are discarded properly.
- Operate pharmacy dispensing equipment and computer systems to process insurance claims and patient records.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients by answering questions about medications, dosages, and side effects.
- Assist the Pharmacist in compounding medications and preparing IV solutions when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy workspace in compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Current California Pharmacy Technician License.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy software.
