Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance payers (e.g., Medicare, Medi-Cal, Commercial).
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to rendering services.
- Manage patient invoicing, statements, and payment collections in a timely manner.
- Review and resolve denied or rejected claims to maximize revenue collection.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and coding updates.
- Collaborate with the billing team and healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Medical Billing, Coding, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Previous experience in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management (1-3 years preferred).
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as AthenaHealth, Epic, or Cerner.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and billing software.
- Valid Driver’s License (if on-site requirements apply).
