Job Overview:
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in the healthcare team. You will be responsible for processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and assisting patients with their medication needs. We value accuracy, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and Package Medications: Accurately measure, mix, and package prescriptions according to physician orders and state regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Customer Service: Greet patients, answer inquiries regarding prescriptions and medication interactions, and ensure a welcoming environment.
- Quality Control: Verify prescription information for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness before dispensing.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and all state pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Insurance Processing: Assist patients with insurance claims and copay processing.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification (or eligible to obtain).
- Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred; training available for qualified candidates.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to perform mathematical calculations and verify data with high precision.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliability: Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
