Responsibilities
- Accurately process and fill prescriptions in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Prepare medications for dispensing, including counting, pouring, and labeling.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies.
- Verify insurance coverage and process third-party billing claims.
- Provide outstanding customer service by answering patient inquiries and resolving issues.
- Assist the pharmacist with clinical tasks, such as medication therapy management (MTM) preparation.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by PHTCB or ExCPT (or eligible to sit for the exam).
- Active, unencumbered California Pharmacy Technician license.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new pharmacy software.
