Responsibilities
- Dispense Prescription Medications: Accurately prepare and verify prescription medications according to doctor's orders and state regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage expiration dates to ensure zero shortages.
- Patient Consultation: Provide excellent customer service by answering questions regarding medications, dosages, and side effects.
- Insurance Verification: Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility to minimize billing errors.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medication profiles in the pharmacy management system.
- Quality Control: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and company policies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required or eligibility to obtain.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to handle sensitive information and perform precise calculations.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with patients and medical staff.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency with pharmacy software systems (e.g., RxWorks, Cerner, Epic).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
