Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Process insurance claims and manage patient billing inquiries
- Maintain inventory control and order pharmaceutical supplies
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Ensure compliance with all state/federal pharmacy regulations
- Operate pharmacy software and automated dispensing systems
- Prepare sterile compounds and IV medications when required
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license
- PTCB or ExCPT certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year pharmacy experience (retail/hospital)
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications and pharmaceutical terminology
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Proficient in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
- Basic computer skills and HIPAA compliance knowledge
