Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications for patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Process insurance claims and verify patient insurance information accurately and timely.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and ordering pharmaceutical supplies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone inquiries and addressing patient questions regarding medications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pharmacy environment in compliance with FDA and state regulations.
- Assist with the data entry of patient records and prescription history into the pharmacy management system.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligible to sit for the national certification exam (PTCB or ExCPT).
- Current State of California Pharmacy Technician license.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy software (e.g., McKesson, Cerner, or similar).
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Valid CPR and BLS certification is a plus.
