Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications following legal and ethical standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Patient Interaction: Assist patients with medication inquiries, provide instruction on proper usage, and ensure excellent customer service.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims efficiently to minimize delays.
- Quality Control: Perform routine checks on medication packages and labeling to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols at all times.
- Compounding: Assist pharmacists with the compounding of sterile and non-sterile medications as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification: Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or ExCPT preferred. State license required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is a plus.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent mathematical skills, and basic computer proficiency.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly demeanor.
