Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Manage inventory levels by checking expiration dates, restocking shelves, and organizing storage areas.
- Assist customers with prescription inquiries, insurance questions, and medication counseling.
- Process insurance claims and handle billing transactions using Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and state pharmacy practice acts.
- Operate pharmacy software systems (e.g., Rx30, Cerner) to update patient records.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligible to sit for certification (PTCB/ExCPT).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
