Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and fill prescriptions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, including allergies and current medications, to prevent errors.
- Process insurance claims and handle copay collections efficiently.
- Provide outstanding customer service by answering questions and offering medication counseling.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving deliveries and restocking shelves.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and pharmacy safety standards.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required by the State of Michigan Board of Pharmacy.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to learn pharmacy management software.
