Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Accurately fill prescriptions, count and measure medications, and prepare patient medication packages under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Quality Assurance: Verify all prescriptions for dosage, interactions, and allergies to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with patients, answering questions regarding prescriptions, insurance, and general medication information.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage incoming shipments, and perform monthly inventory counts to ensure optimal drug availability.
- Insurance Verification: Process insurance claims and verify patient benefits to minimize out-of-pocket costs.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medication profiles in the pharmacy management system.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program is preferred.
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification required.
- Licensure: Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) license in the state of Oregon.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to educate patients on medication usage.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills and ability to learn pharmacy software systems quickly.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
