Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for patients, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Order Verification: Review and verify all prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness before dispensing.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage pharmaceutical inventory, and initiate reordering processes to prevent shortages.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with prescription inquiries, insurance verification, and medication counseling as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with state and federal laws, including HIPAA and DEA regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records and medication histories within the pharmacy management system.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with pharmacy software.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and pharmacy staff.
