Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy of prescriptions, including checking for drug interactions and dosage appropriateness.
- Prepare and package medications, ensuring proper labeling and timely dispensing.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and performing monthly counts.
- Assist customers with prescription inquiries, insurance verifications, and medication counseling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Process returns, transfers, and refills according to established protocols.
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred; state license required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws.
