Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for patients, ensuring proper labeling and safety checks.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients in a friendly and professional manner, answering questions regarding prescriptions and medication therapies.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage returns or expired inventory.
- Insurance Processing: Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and manage co-pays efficiently using pharmacy software.
- Quality Control: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Compounding: Prepare specialized formulations and extemporaneous compounds as directed by the Pharmacist.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or ExCPT certification required.
- Licensure: Valid Missouri Pharmacy Technician license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to perform math calculations and verify data accuracy.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy management systems (e.g., Rx30, McKesson) is a plus.
