Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately receive, verify, and process prescriptions according to state and federal laws.
- Medication Preparation: Prepare and package medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring correct dosages and labeling.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, perform inventory counts, and order pharmaceutical supplies to ensure availability.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with patients and healthcare providers to answer questions and resolve issues regarding prescriptions.
- Quality Control: Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy environment by adhering to safety protocols and sanitation standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of prescription history and patient interactions in the pharmacy management system.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is a plus.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to pay close attention to detail to prevent medication errors.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
