Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency cases using standardized triage protocols
- Provide accurate medical information and reassurance to patients via phone and in-person consultations
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate patient flow and resource allocation
- Document patient encounters thoroughly in EHR systems ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Implement crisis intervention protocols for psychiatric and trauma cases
- Mentor junior staff on triage best practices and emergency department procedures
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New Mexico
- Minimum 3 years emergency department experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills under pressure
- Spanish bilingual proficiency strongly preferred
- BSN degree or higher (MSN candidates encouraged)
- Experience with telehealth triage platforms
