Responsibilities
- Process Prescriptions: Accurately receive, verify, and dispense prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Patient Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, processing payments, and offering medication counseling support.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage pharmacy inventory, and ensure proper storage of medications and supplies.
- Quality Control: Perform routine quality assurance checks to ensure medication safety and adherence to regulatory standards (HIPAA, DEA).
- Administrative Duties: Maintain patient records, file insurance claims, and process refunds or transfers as needed.
- Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and label prescriptions for pickup or delivery.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred but willing to train dedicated candidates.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to focus on details to ensure accuracy in medication dispensing and record keeping.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer Proficiency: Must be comfortable using pharmacy management software and basic computer operations.
