Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications to patients following doctor's orders and hospital protocols.
- Verify the accuracy of prescriptions by checking patient information, dosage, and drug interactions.
- Assist pharmacists in the compounding of medications and the management of the automated dispensing system.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including monitoring stock levels and ordering pharmaceutical supplies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries and educating them on medication usage and side effects.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy environment by adhering to all sterile techniques and safety regulations.
- Process insurance claims and manage paperwork related to patient billing and insurance verification.
Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software.
