Responsibilities
- Verify and Process Prescriptions: Accurately check prescriptions for dosage, interactions, and legality before dispensing.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, receive shipments, and manage pharmacy inventory to ensure product availability.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with medication questions, process insurance claims, and provide a friendly, professional checkout experience.
- Compounding & Preparation: Prepare medications for dispensing, including counting, measuring, and labeling.
- Pharmacist Support: Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records and medication history logs.
- Point of Sale (POS): Operate the cash register and handle payments efficiently.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; certification (e.g., CPhT) is preferred.
- Licensure: Current Pharmacy Technician license issued by the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Experience: Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy and focus.
- Availability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
