Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and potential drug interactions.
- Manage inventory, including reordering medications, monitoring stock levels, and checking expiration dates.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and resolving billing concerns.
- Assist with compounding sterile preparations and performing routine quality checks.
- Ensure strict compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and DEA guidelines.
- Operate pharmacy software systems accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Current, active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with healthcare software.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred.
