Responsibilities
- Prepare and fill prescriptions for patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Verify patient information, including insurance details and allergy history, to prevent medication errors.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical products.
- Assist customers with prescription inquiries, medication explanations, and insurance reimbursement processes.
- Operate pharmacy software systems to track medication orders and patient records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred or currently in the process of certification.
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and colleagues.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software.
