Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for patients under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prescription orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and counting medications to ensure stock availability.
- Process prescription claims and communicate with insurance companies regarding authorization and reimbursement.
- Assist customers with medication inquiries, providing information on drug interactions, dosages, and side effects.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of sterile compounding medications when required.
Qualifications
- Current PTCB or ExCPT certification (or state licensure if required).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software and medical terminology.
