Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine acuity levels and appropriate triage categories.
- Communicate effectively with patients via phone and in-person to address medical concerns and provide triage instructions.
- Document patient interactions, symptoms, and care plans accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient flow and care continuity.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and preventative care.
- Monitor patient status and escalate critical cases immediately to the appropriate medical staff.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Emergency Department (ED) or Triage nursing.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems (EMR).
