Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify Prescriptions: Review prescriptions for completeness and accuracy, checking for drug interactions and proper dosage.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, restock medication shelves, and manage inventory control systems efficiently.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with patients to answer questions about medications and provide excellent service.
- Assist Pharmacists: Perform various administrative tasks, such as answering phones, processing insurance claims, and organizing filing systems.
- Compounding: Assist in the preparation of specialized compounds as directed by the pharmacist.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid Pharmacy Technician license issued by the California Board of Pharmacy.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is strongly preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain strict accuracy and focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
