Responsibilities
- Verify and prepare prescriptions for dispensing, ensuring strict accuracy and adherence to safety protocols and state regulations.
- Assist patients with medication inquiries, providing clear and accurate information regarding usage and potential side effects.
- Manage pharmacy inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and verifying expiration dates to ensure product availability.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists to ensure the proper dispensing of medications and resolve any discrepancies.
- Handle cash transactions and process insurance verifications efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare medication packaging and labeling according to strict regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Current state Pharmacy Technician Certification (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Valid state license or registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of pharmacy software systems.
