Responsibilities
- Process prescription refill requests accurately and efficiently.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and medication orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist the supervising pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and restock medication shelves as needed.
- Communicate with patients regarding prescription status and insurance issues.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including HIPAA.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software.
