Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for dispensing according to physician orders.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, place orders for pharmaceutical supplies, and manage inventory control systems.
- Customer Service: Greet patients, answer phone inquiries, and resolve medication-related questions with a professional demeanor.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, safety protocols, and state pharmacy laws.
- Pharmacist Support: Assist senior pharmacists with clinical tasks, compounding, and quality assurance checks.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is a plus.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills for dosage calculations.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
