Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately receive, prepare, and dispense prescription medications while adhering to strict state and federal regulations.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, manage pharmacy inventory, and ensure all supplies are replenished efficiently.
- Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional service to patients by answering questions, processing insurance claims, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
- Assistance to Pharmacist: Collaborate with pharmacists to verify prescriptions, compound medications, and handle clinical tasks.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain accurate patient records, ensure HIPAA compliance, and follow OSHA safety protocols.
- Quality Assurance: Perform routine checks on medication orders to ensure accuracy and prevent errors.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must hold an active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or PTCB certification.
- Licensure: Valid Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Kansas required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
