Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and package prescriptions according to state and federal laws.
- Patient Assistance: Interact with customers to answer questions and provide information on medications and healthcare products.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage the pharmacy inventory system efficiently.
- Quality Control: Verify patient information and prescription details to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Insurance Processing: Assist patients with insurance claims and payment processing.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and pharmacy protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred; registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a similar healthcare role is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills for dosage calculations.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
