Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications for patients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Input patient information and prescription details into the pharmacy management system accurately.
- Assist the pharmacist in verifying prescriptions and providing basic patient counseling on medication usage.
- Manage inventory, including checking stock levels, ordering supplies, and organizing the pharmacy storage area.
- Process insurance claims and verify patient coverage to minimize delays in medication delivery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Handle cash transactions and process payments at the point of sale.
Qualifications
- Current and active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred but not required for the right candidate.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer service-oriented attitude.
