Your Impact:
As a Pharmacy Technician at MediCore, you are the bridge between our pharmacists and our patients. Your meticulous attention to detail ensures that every prescription is accurate, safe, and ready when it is needed most.
Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications to patients and healthcare providers, verifying all labels and dosages.
- Manage Inventory: Monitor stock levels, receive and organize incoming shipments, and perform monthly inventory counts to ensure product availability.
- Verify Prescriptions: Review physician orders for accuracy, check for drug interactions, and calculate dosages as required by state regulations.
- Customer Service: Assist patients with prescription inquiries, explain insurance coverage, and process payments efficiently.
- Document Management: Maintain accurate patient records, update electronic health records (EHR), and ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in medication safety checks and maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized pharmacy workspace.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT, CPhT, or state-licensed) is required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program is preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is highly desirable.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to perform mathematical calculations and detect errors in prescription data.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and colleagues.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using pharmacy management systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
