Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and package prescriptions according to legal and company standards.
- Verify Orders: Review prescription orders for completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, restock pharmaceutical supplies, and manage incoming shipments.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients and healthcare providers to answer medication questions and resolve concerns.
- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and state pharmacy laws.
- Documentation: Accurately document all dispensing activities and patient interactions in the pharmacy management system.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician certification (e.g., CPhT, ExCPT) required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication safety protocols.
- Interpersonal: Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and confidentiality.
