Job Summary
In this role, you will play a critical part in the pharmacy workflow, ensuring that patients receive their medications accurately and in a timely manner. You will work closely with pharmacists to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations while delivering top-tier customer service.
Responsibilities
- Accurately fill prescriptions by reviewing medication requests, verifying dosages, and preparing medications for dispensing.
- Input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy management system with high precision.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and ordering pharmaceutical supplies.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims to minimize denials.
- Assist customers with medication questions and provide education on proper usage.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
- Handle returns and refunds according to company policy.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) license required in New York State.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and abbreviations.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, pharmacists, and medical staff.
- Proficiency with computer systems and pharmacy software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner, or similar).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
