Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prescription orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving, stocking, and ordering pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist patients with prescription transfers, refills, and inquiries regarding medication usage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process payments and handle financial transactions at the point of service.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to improve workflow and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner).
