Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Assist pharmacists in the accurate dispensing of prescription medications to patients, ensuring all labels and instructions are clear.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, receive and verify incoming shipments, and replenish pharmacy shelves to ensure product availability.
- Patient Assistance: Interact with patients to answer questions regarding medications, provide over-the-counter recommendations, and verify insurance information.
- Prescription Processing: Process new prescriptions, refill requests, and special orders efficiently using pharmacy management software.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and state pharmacy laws to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Quality Control: Perform routine checks on medication packaging and labeling to minimize errors and ensure accuracy.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must hold current PTCB or ExCPT certification.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmacy terminology, drug interactions, and sterile compounding techniques.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to learn and operate pharmacy automation systems and computer software (e.g., Rx30, IBM Micromedex).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
