Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Receive, verify, and prepare prescriptions for dispensing, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with medication inquiries, insurance questions, and provide directions on proper usage.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal laws, HIPAA regulations, and company policies regarding medication handling.
- Point of Sale (POS): Process transactions efficiently at the register and handle payment and insurance verification.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in the preparation of sterile products and perform routine quality control checks.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification: Active Pharmacy Technician Certification (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmacy software systems and medical terminology.
- Interpersonal: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in dispensing medications and data entry.
