Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, and process prescriptions from physicians, patients, and other healthcare providers with high accuracy.
- Prepare and package medications, ensuring proper labeling and documentation according to state and federal laws.
- Assist the Pharmacist in the final review of prescriptions and the compounding of medications.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving stock, stocking shelves, and monitoring expiration dates.
- Verify patient insurance information and resolve any billing discrepancies efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions regarding medications and pharmacy policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Current and unencumbered Pharmacy Technician license in the State of Texas.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centric attitude.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software systems (e.g., Rx30, Cerner, or McKesson).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
