Responsibilities
- Verify and process prescriptions with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prepare, package, and label prescribed medications for dispensing.
- Assist the pharmacist in the compounding and final filling of prescriptions.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and performing monthly counts.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries regarding insurance and medication usage.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols at all times.
- Process insurance claims and verify patient insurance coverage.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification (PTCB or ExCPT) is required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and dosages.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
