Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision
- Verify patient information, dosage instructions, and insurance coverage
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and rotation of pharmaceuticals
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV preparations
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) for dispensing records
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and state pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
- Active Michigan Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and basic computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Clear background check and pre-employment drug screening required
