Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage and maintain pharmacy inventory with automated inventory systems
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling
- Operate pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for prescription processing
- Assist with sterile compounding and IV preparations
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician license or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Proficiency in prescription processing and medication verification
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn pharmacy systems
