Responsibilities
- Accurately submit and follow up on claims with insurance carriers (Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare) using ICD-10 and CPT codes.
- Review patient records to ensure complete and accurate documentation for billing purposes.
- Handle patient inquiries regarding billing statements, copays, and insurance coverage.
- Identify and resolve billing discrepancies or claim denials efficiently.
- Update patient information in the EHR system and maintain organized billing records.
- Collaborate with the billing team to optimize revenue cycle management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing or Coding preferred.
- Certification (CPC, CBCS, or RHIT) is a strong plus but not strictly required.
- 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or a related healthcare role.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, or Cerner) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
