Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Accurately fill prescriptions by counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, and mixing medications according to physician orders.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and maintain the pharmacy's inventory system efficiently.
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer phone inquiries professionally, and resolve issues with compassion and efficiency.
- Regulatory Compliance: Strictly adhere to all state and federal laws, including HIPAA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols.
- Insurance Processing: Verify insurance coverage and process paperwork accurately to ensure timely reimbursement for patients.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment for both staff and patients.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligibility to obtain certification (e.g., ExCPT, PTCB).
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Math Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills for medication calculations.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, pharmacists, and healthcare professionals.
