Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify medications according to prescription orders and legal regulations
- Manage prescription processing workflow, including intake, data entry, and final verification
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and health maintenance
- Maintain precise inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, FDA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Utilize pharmacy management software for documentation and reporting
- Support sterile compounding and medication preparation as needed
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license required
- Minimum 1 year experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Certification through PTCB or ExCPT preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with patients and providers
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compliance
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures
