Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and package prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prescription Verification: Verify the accuracy of physician orders and resolve any discrepancies before dispensing.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, receive pharmaceutical deliveries, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to patients, answering questions regarding medications and insurance processes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, ensuring patient confidentiality and safety standards.
- System Management: Utilize pharmacy management software to input data, process claims, and track patient history.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and medical staff.
