Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately according to physician orders and safety protocols.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and conducting monthly inventory counts.
- Assist customers with prescription transfers, refill requests, and over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process payments efficiently using pharmacy software systems.
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure proper medication reconciliation and patient counseling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment in adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Handle controlled substances with strict adherence to DEA regulations.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligibility to obtain certification (PTCB or ExCPT).
- Current and active California Pharmacy Technician license.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and staff.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new pharmacy software quickly.
