Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, verify, and process prescription requests from patients and medical professionals.
- Prepare and package prescription medications, ensuring proper labeling and dosage instructions.
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage to ensure billing accuracy.
- Assist the Pharmacist in compounding medications and maintaining inventory records.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions regarding medications and refill procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Monitor expiration dates and perform routine stock counts.
Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) is preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
