Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages with a high degree of accuracy and safety.
- Greet patients warmly, explain procedures, and ensure a comfortable experience.
- Properly label, process, and log specimens to ensure data integrity and chain of custody compliance.
- Maintain strict infection control standards and sterilization of equipment.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to resolve any discrepancies or urgent results.
- Assist with departmental inventory and supply management.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
