Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws efficiently and with minimal patient discomfort.
- Label, process, and prepare blood samples for laboratory analysis according to strict protocols.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and infection control standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, answer questions, and ensure a positive experience.
- Verify patient identity and information accuracy prior to specimen collection.
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
- Current state licensure (if applicable) and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional phlebotomy experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on patient comfort and empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
